People By Name: Not Just About Reverse Phone Lookups!

The very first impression we got on PeopleByName.com’s homepage is the current 1,379,043,021 total phone history (including phone history reports) records from both the US and Canada. That’s what they claim to have at the bottom of the page.

You can search their huge database using this search box below to check:

The positive feedback they have are all over. But we wanted to have our own feel of things, so we are reviewing it here too!

bannerFirst off, the People By Name system asked for a valid, 10-digit phone number, and we entered it on the search box on their homepage. We used the same set of numbers we had run on Phone Detective. Unfortunately, the system could only answer, “please enter a valid phone number. It should be a 10-digit number like 555-555-5555.”

That response might probably mean the number is not in the People By Name reverse phone lookup database. Sure, we liked how the search bar auto corrects disordered phone numbers, such that 1234567899 promptly switch to (123) 456-7899, but is it worth the dollars?

Stats

New data is synced up within 24 hours. The customer response gravitates towards that side, too. So you are kept up to date with your “person of interest” all throughout the year, at any given time of the day. For search results, it only takes a couple of seconds, sometimes less.

From Clickbank’s data feed we see that the reverse phone lookup service scores a 75 out of 100 score for Weighted Sales Rank – a standard. Also, it impressively keeps its moneyback rate low, way low at below 2, meaning buyers are impressed with their new tool. Moreover, a customer pull of 2.07 is attached to the service, meaning it’s neither the most popular here, or it just got in – actually it registered over at Clickbank on May 17, 2013. Maybe we should spare it some slack.

Database and Quality of Search Results

The website is not encrypted but there is good reason to suggest it is sufficiently secure, though, seeing it belongs to OneOnOnePrivate Registration from Chesterbrook, US.

We could gather some deep info on a spam caller’s ID, including their name, location, family members, current and even past addresses, date of birth (age), current and previous phone numbers. It is helpfully incredible, and could be used to run a brief background check on, say a new business partner, employee, that conspicuously silent next-door neighbor and who have you. Note that they won’t receive a notification telling them how you’ve been all up their case lately.

People By Name claims it does not collect your info to make better their search database – saying it only uses data it receives from its “data providers” which we honestly doubt. Another point of contention its limited “No Result, No Charge” guarantee which it says assures you that they won’t credit your account just in case the search produces no results, but then immediately states, “You are paying for our service of searching the information, not the results.”

Prices

We find these pretty much flexible:

  • $39.94 – Full phone report plus 19 lookups with Identity protection

  • $9.99 – Full phone report

  • $34.99 – Full phone reports with additional 19 reverse phone lookups

We can’t complain much, maybe only point out to the possibility of not finding the mystery caller by name. All three price offers are subject to a one-off cut, from either your PayPal account, or credit card. Double-billing should not be a big concern.
